We are planning a re-launch of HUFP under the name ‘Hands Up…’
Over August we will be
redesigning the website and modifying our protest process, to create an
ongoing mechanism through which young people can express their voices about
politics and current affairs under the umbrella of the ‘Hands Up’
organisation. We would like to get more young people involved in talking
about issues that affect them, and hopefully to not only highlight important
subjects and events as they occur but to work with young people in schools to
talk about how politics can be relevant to their lives. We hope to provide
the media with structures for contacting politically aware young people
around Britain (and maybe further a field) who will be able to speak and
debate on issues that affect them.
Check back for
developments at the end of August, by which time we should be up and running
again, and in the mean time email us at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com if you
are a young person who would like to become involved, a student or teacher
interested in the creation of an ‘alternative citizenship’ workshop, or a
journalist interested in following our re-launch.
We hope to re-launch
officially on October 24th, (although this date will be confirmed
nearer to the time) with a London-based gallery exhibition of some of the
hands from the anti-war campaign and a brief discussion of our new direction.
Please contact us if you would be interested in attending.
